Something that everyone must know and understand is simply this: If your equipment is unsafe to use, don't use it. That goes for any equipment. If it's unsafe, don't use it.
Topics included in this safety video are: inspect equipment, pad the sharp edges, never use the chain as a sling, don’t overload equipment, avoid quick stops, keep chains/hooks/slings off the floor, make sure your chain or wire rope isn't kinked or twisted, when traveling with a load, always carry the load as close to the floor as possible, hook safety, broken or damaged strands in your wire rope, never run the hoist or crane all the way up or all the way down.
