(Runtime: 9 min.) This program will discuss some basic rules that apply to both equipment operators and warehouse personnel. Basically, forklift operator rules generally call for pedestrians to have the right-of-way but forklift operators don’t always see pedestrians until it’s too late. Stay alert and pay attention to the sounds around you.

Topics included in this safety video are: rules to follow when walking, forklift driving backwards, equipment being operated with forks forward, not standing behind a pallet while the forklift or pallet jack is picking it up, opening truck and trailer doors, shipping and receiving docks, forklifts and corners or intersections, walking through doorways, forklift putting a load in the rack, pedestrian standing near a wall or other fixed object, dead man’s switch, inspecting vehicles every shift for deficiencies, good housekeeping, handling batteries or battery charging equipment, improperly stacked materials, exits or exit doors, fire extinguishers, and reporting all minor injuries.
