Truck driving is often considered a dangerous business because of the countless traffic, road, and weather hazards. Yet, more drivers are hurt each year by slipping and falling from non-moving vehicles than by any other single cause. Slips and falls in and around vehicles account for as much as 25% of all driver injuries. One insurance study stated that one in every 9 truck driver injuries is a result of a slip or a fall from a non-moving vehicle and that those injuries account for 15% to 25 % of all trucking employee injuries.
